Happy Trails! After 20+ years and countless slices of your signature honey wheat bread, thank you. Thank you for the many years of providing quality service and the absolute best sandwich I've ever eaten. I first tried your veggie on honey wheat with extra dill during Bill Clinton's second term and it continued to provide me comfort to help me get through this current guy's first term. Wishing you the best. One of your regulars, Ron

I've been coming here for years. The faces working here may change, but the food has been very consistent with few changes to the menu. I remember telling a buddy, right before he was about to try this place for the first time, that the sandwiches here are all about the bread. And he scoffed. Surely, isn't what makes a sandwich great is what's sandwiched in the middle? I tell thee nay, good sir or madam. The bread, that delicious baked vessel which carries those sandwich insides is as important if not more important than what is on the inside. And this isn't to knock what is on the inside. This place has great sandwiches. I'm super partial to the Combo and the Cubano. I used to get down with the tuna sandwich back on the day. My brother loves the pastrami (although don't expect it to be NY deli style). My friend now tells other people this story about he never thought the bread for a sandwich was important until he came here. The Bread Store is a solid place. Parking can be terrible and from noon to 1pm this place gets mobbed by state workers so be aware. But come here if you've never been. It's worth it. Pick up a baguette to go, too.

I always drive past here. I have heard of them when I used to work for the senior center nearby. The seniors love the bread store because they donate their bread to them sometimes. I have only eaten their breakfast sandwiches because my coworker bought them for us before work started. Today, I decided to come with my coworker for lunch! It was packed! There are 3? Or 4? People on the sandwich line pumpkins those big delicious fresh sandwiches!!!! I couldn't decide what to order between the turkey and BLT. I was very scared to order the BLT because every sandwich place I have gone to except maybe one has made a very good BLT that isn't filled with nothingness. So I ordered the turkey sandwich. We are able to choose our own bread type. I ordered my turkey sandwich with honey wheat, no onions and with everything else which included mayo and mustard, lettuce, sprouts, and tomatoes. The sandwiches came with a slice of dill pickle and lays!!!!!! The sandwich was gigantic!!!!!! The bread was soooooo soft and fresh. The sandwich was so big I had to peel off the edges of the bread to fit it in my mouth. It was the perfect amount of mustard and mayo. If you don't like mustard it might be too much for you. I ate half of my friends BLT. Omg!!!! It was loaded with perfectly cooked crispy bacon and a lot of it. I will definitely order it next time. The pickle was like a treat at the end of my sandwich. And the lays chips I like to put it in my sandwich. There are loaves of bread on a shelf that looks good and I think they sell. Great sandwich spot guys!!! Open for breakfast and lunch only. Everyone has to come try it!

So, I am the husband that my wife is always referring to! I work downtown and this is a VERY regular spot for me! I will die for their focaccia bread! It's baked with some of their sliced cheese scraps once they've finished slicing cheese! Oh me oh my does that cheese make allllll the difference! I never order another bread besides the focaccia, but my colleagues have taken loaves of the lemon herb and fresh ciabatta. My go to is the turkey on focaccia with all the veggies! If you work near by or are in the area for lunch, drop by, their sandwiches are great! Customer service is ok... they're typically busy during lunch but a few of the girls in the back could be a little bit more polite. The sandwiches make up for the wait and decent service! Oh and they have fresh baked goodies in the front window by the register...Giant cookies and cinnamon roles you can say no to

Get the half sandwich half soup combo you will not be disappointed!!! You get a cup of soup and a large "half" sandwich along with a long slice of sourdough (or other bread of your choice). With that said the sandwiches here are huge! Definitely a good value for your money all under $10! They are very good too. Feel free to customize as you like (type of bread, add or remove toppings, etc.). I love that we have a bread store with so much selection of freshly baked bread along with small pastries/baked goods. It is a very casual walk up to the counter and order, then they call your number kind of places. A decent indoor seating area and small outside patio. Service can be a little slow sometimes. Love that they accept credit now! Would like to see a list of all the available daily breads listed somewhere on the wall. Grub hub online ordering doesn't work anymore...but you can call ahead. :)

My coworkers surprisingly joined me for breakfast here! It was half a mile way and some had trouble with the short distance but the meal was totally worth it. I ordered the breakfast sandwich. Wheat bread with sausage, egg, and cheese. It was a lot of food for me that it became two meals. Probably would order this again :3 This place was definitely worth checking out and would love to come again.

What happens when you combine expertly fresh baked bread, high quality deli meats, and fresh quality produce? Well...by golly, you get a darn delicious sandwich by the Bread Store! FOOD Ohhh...my favorites are the hot pastrami sandwich ($9.75 out the door) and the Cubano sandwich. The hot pastrami is thinly shaved served with Swiss cheese and thinly sliced marinated onions (I think their purple) on fresh rye bread. The rye is soft but sturdy with a crisp crust. The Cubano is a hot sandwich of sliced pork, ham, Swiss cheese with tangy Ailio sauce on focaccia bread. They panini press it. Each sandwich comes with a pickle spear and small bag of Lays potato chips. They also serve soups and salads. Plus hey, it's a bakery so they have loaves of bread, pastries (such as muffins, danishes)...all sooo gooood. ORDERING They have two registers. Every time I come in it's a crap shoot as to which register or cashier is open (or both) to order your food. When in doubt just ask them. They have indoor and outdoor seating (bistro table size) but not a lot so I don't advise this place for large groups. PARKING SITUATION They have a paid parking lot next to the building and street parking. During the lunch rush, there could be a wait and Sac City parking patrol always seem to be on the prowl. Inside the Bread Store there is a bell (near the sandwich pickup counter) that you can ring if you eye the Sac City parking patrol. Besides helping your fellow man, your efforts will be rewarded with a free treat. Pretty neat.
